Engine Mechanical problem
1991 Isuzu Amigo 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I'm in anchorage - its currently -21f - i went to start my amigo today - it turned over & stalled. When I started the 2nd time - nothing. All lights went out. (I had to bypass the ignition 2 years ago & use a toggle switch)
I replaced the battery & it still will not start. Nothing. I have dash lights.
Can someone pleaaaassseee help?!
Also - I tried to put a screw driver on the ignition wires to see if the switch was burned out - still won't start.

try taking something and tapping the starter, I've seen the bendix hang up when it doesn't get good cranking amps. be very careful not to touch the terminals, hit the metal casing of the armature, a 2' pipe from the top works good. or a hammer from the bottom. let me know if it helps.

i have replaced the started on my amigo 7 times since 1991, and that's no kidding... luckily, i bought the lifetime warranty on it, so i keep getting them for free... i'd take the starter off and have it checked out.
