I turn heater on and switch it either. Setting, you can hear the air containing pump making bad noises. And motor tries to shut off. Switch the blower motor off, and everything is fine. I need a new A/C system I already know this, but what can I do to bypass this so I have my heater its cold.

Hi,

The A/C compressor will engage in the defroster setting regardless of the temperature requested. Does it also happen when you just turn the heater on at floor level? As far as the A/C issues, it sounds like the compressor is locked up. Have you checked for that? If it is, then either the compressor needs replaced or you can get an A/C bypass pulley. Basically, you remove the compressor and bolt on a bypass pulley in its place.

Let me know.

Joe
