Long story short, my car will slowly overheat. It will not overheat if i let it sit, but once its warmed up, if i drive up a hill or there is any load on my car, the temp gauge will start to rise. If i turn my heater on hot and full blast it starts to drop.

I've replaced the thermostat, water pump, coolant temp sensor, head gasket and all other gaskets, had radiator flushed and when radiator is drained, it flows out nicely so I dont think there is a clog.

What could be causing this? When I repaired the head gasket, everything was cleaned. Is it possible that the new thermostat is faulty? Is there anything else that could make my car over heat. I have no coolant loss either.

Any help would be great.

make sure radiator fan(s) come on properly. also are there other signs of overheating aside from gauge? gauge may be inaccurate due to faulty engine coolant temp sensor

The fans both spin freely and both come on (slower speed, not high speed) when the engine is at operating temp.

I have replaced the coolant temp sensor and saw no difference of when the fans come on or the speed.

When I unplug the coolant temp sensor, the fans spin on HIGH all of the time no matter the engine temp.

I believe last time I checked before I replaced the head gasket the fans would only spin on high when the car was overheating.

**The radiator on the very top rail (where the cap is) is very warm when car has been driven for a while, the rest of the radiator, the fins, except the outside edge, is quite cool to the touch. Is this normal?

****And now, i'm getting p0300 - random/multiple misfire. I just bought all new plugs and it seems to be fine when driving. Only time is does it is when im stopped in park and/or drive. Quite sparatic.
