1995 Infiniti G20 Starting
I have a 95 ininiti G20 4cyl automatic. I was driving on the freeway one day and the car shut off while i was driving. I pulled over and tried to start the car and i got nothing. I've been told by friends who have had similiar experiences that it could be the ignition coil, but i went to three auto parts stores, but was told it was a part that they do not carry, or i was even told that my model of car does not have an ignition coil (not sure if that guy was right, or just confused by what he saw on his parts list screen). I was wondering what are possible causes of a car just shutting off while driving like that are?

Hi sjohnson7,
Unless it is a diesel engine, if not it must have ignition coils, just that yours is a distributorless coil pack ignition system and has 4 of them.
It normally is difficult for all 4 coil packs to give way at once.
You must first confirm if it is the electrical, fuel or mechanical problem.
Electrical means you have to check for sparks and power supply, sensors.
Fuel, check pressure.
Mechanical, valve timing, timing belts.
