Hello, I am looking for diagnostic leads for my vehicle listed above. Originally, the key cylinder wiring failed and the cylinder removed along with the necessary steering column parts. We were able to use the master key and key fob tapped directly to Pass-Key III (part #8 of the sub assembly) and manually turn the start switch to run the car without issues - minus the key cylinder. Unfortunately, before I was able to have the cylinder replaced the ignition wire to #8 was broken. At that point, the car won’t start, the warning door chime doubled in timing, error reads under the odometer, and the main dash light indicator Repetitiously cycles through, low washer fluid, red battery symbol, and security. I replaced the part #8 and attached the master key and key fob to the Pass-Key III as it was on the previous one and proceeded to do a master key relearn process to program in the new part. The only thing that changed when trying to reprogram the new part is the word “calibrate” is now on my radio Display. The battery, starter, and alternator are all in good condition. I have checked the wiring, fuses, and relays which are look in proper condition and test good. So I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes, insured proper ground to reset the computer and attached the battery to a jump box. Then using the key fob(with new battery) and master PK3 key in the door cylinders (using 2carpros methods). The fob and keys operated all functions correctly with the exception of starting the car. Then I proceeded to the provided re-learn process. I have now repeated these steps 6 times and no change. I have exhausted all information found online that remotely resembles my issues and Couldn’t find any information or person having the same problem. I’m looking for any help diagnosing the problem. I’m without a Tech2II scanner (version to fit my car unknown).

Hi,

I read through what you wrote and have a few questions. First, what are you referring to as part 8 of the sub assembly? I attached two pics below of the pass key circuit. Take a look at it.

Let me know if this is at all helpful. Also, since it is only the starter that won't engage, are you sure there isn't a fuse issue? I only say that because everything other is working.

Let me know.
Joe

Part 8 of the theft deterrent control module, gets attached to key cylinder and label say Pass-Key III. I uploaded pictures of the part and location with original question. I have checked all the fuses and relays both under the hood and the interior. All are I. Good condition and working. The starter is good, too. The problem is somewhere in the pass key circuit. Reading as a misfire and will not start due to the security. Unable to reset the BCM.

Hi,

I don't mean to be a pain, but the only thing that was uploaded were the two pics I attached. I went back to your first post and nothing was there.

Please advise,

Joe
