The car won't stay running only if you hold the key in a certain place.

Hi,

If you are able to keep it running by holding the key in a specific location, it sounds like the switch itself is internally bad. That would be my first suspect.

The issue with the replacement is you will need to have a five-digit code for the theft protection related to the radio and perform a relearn for the airbag. It should be in the original owner's manual.

If you look at the pics below, first I provided the instructions for disarming the coded theft deterrent. The last three pics explain how to disarm and arm the airbag. I read through the directions and there is one thing I don't like. In the directions, they don't indicate reconnecting the battery after the connectors for the airbag are reconnected. Do that first and then reconnect the battery.
