I have the SEL model. I went and did a little tune up on it. It sounds pretty bad. Well when I went to go change the spark plugs I noticed a little bit of oil on all the spark plugs. Valve cover gasket? Or what would you suggest I check out first? Thanks.

This will be a rocker cover gasket. Replace the gasket and you should be fine.

Is t that not the same as a valve cover gasket? And for a vehicle with 70,000 miles would this be a common issue? Or could there be something more extensive? Thanks.

Yes same thing fairly common as the plug tube seal is part of the rocket cover gasket

Keep at it, don't cut the wire as this will cause a high resistance no Mayer how well you join it, the plug will have s lock tab, it may be inside the lug and a small probe may be required. It should in clip I know they can be a mongrel some times but it will let go
