I just bought a 2005 Hyundai Tucson about a month ago, I just purchased the plates for goodness sakes. Soon after I bought it, it would begin to jerk and hesitate at stop signs. Then shortly after the check engine light came on. I won't lie, it took me about two weeks to get a diagnosic test on it and boy was it worth it. In total 13 different defaul code came up and now I'm so confused I don't know where to start. Now the car will jerk very hard when I am getting out of first gear and will often time die. I will list all the default codes below. Please tell me possible reasons for these and where I should start. Keep in mind that I am a female with no mechanical wit at all.

Below is a list and explanation of the codes you are having.
With no mechanical backgroung I would tell you to take to a shop/dealer and have the repairs done.

Although you have numerous codes there may only be one or two things wrong, they just compound themselves and create more codes. In other words if you fix one problem and eliminate the code for it, that may cure some or all of the problems.

P0170 Fuel trim (FT), bank 1 – malfunction Intake leak, AIR system, fuel pressure/pump, injector(s), EVAP canister purge valve, HO2S

P0171 System too lean, bank 1 Intake/exhaust leak, AIR system, MAF/VAF sensor, fuel pressure/pump, injector(s), HO2S

P0173 Fuel trim (FT), bank 2 – malfunction Intake leak, AIR system, fuel pressure/pump, injector(s), EVAP canister purge valve, HO2S

P0174 System too lean, bank 2 Intake/exhaust leak, fuel pressure/pump, injector(s), AIR system, hose connection(s)

P0300 Random/multiple cylinder(s) – misfire detected Spark plug(s), HT lead(s), injector(s), ignition coil(s), low compression, wiring

P0301 Cylinder 1 – misfire detected Engine mechanical fault, wiring, ignitiion/fuel system, injector, ECT/MAF sensor, ECM

P0302 Cylinder 2 – misfire detected Engine mechanical fault, wiring, ignitiion/fuel system, injector, ECT/MAF sensor, ECM

P0303 Cylinder 3 – misfire detected Engine mechanical fault, wiring, ignitiion/fuel system, injector, ECT/MAF sensor, ECM

P0304 Cylinder 4 – misfire detected Engine mechanical fault, wiring, ignitiion/fuel system, injector, ECT/MAF sensor, ECM

P0305 Cylinder 5 – misfire detected Engine mechanical fault, wiring, ignitiion/fuel system, injector, ECT/MAF sensor, ECM

P0306 Cylinder 6 – misfire detected Engine mechanical fault, wiring, ignitiion/fuel system, injector, ECT/MAF sensor, ECM

Good evening TORRIEND,

Were you able to find a solution to this problem? I am experiencing the same issues myself.

Thank you in advance.

It is a good idea to clear all codes and do a drive cycle, this will set current codes and you will not waste time chasing problems that aren't there, do this and report back codes that are set for further assistance.

These are the codes the ECU is reporting after clearing all codes and doing a drive cycle:

P0170, P0173, P0300, P0303, P0304, P0306

These are the parts I've replaced thus far:

- Spark Plugs
- Spark Plug Wires
- Ignition Coil
- Purge Valve
- Starter Motor
- MAF sensor

Car is Hyundai Tucson 2006, 2WD 2.7L V6
Odometer reads 185,000 miles

Symptoms:

- Rough Idle, Hesitation, Engine Shakes
- Bad gas mileage

Any thoughts?

The first thing I would be looking for is holes in the air I take tubes and vacuum leak somewhere.
