I have Sonata GLS. I have buzzing noise when I accelerate between 2 and 3 gears. I was told it was tranny at Firestone, the I took it to Transmission service, but they said the noise is coming from the muffler. Can you comment on the problem.
Plus, airbag indicator light came on, what might happened and I heard it's very expensive to fix it?

It's very frustrating when you get multiple diagnoses. I suggest finding a independent (non-chain) automotive shop that is honest, reliable and competent. I tend to agree with the transmission shop--it's more likely with your symptoms that the noise is coming from the exhaust system, such as a bent heat shield, etc.

The airbag light needs a shop with a scanner. They can read the specific code that will help with diagnoses and they can reset the light. While a problem with airbags may exist, it is equally possible that you don't have anything wrong with your system. Find a good shop and be a loyal customer. These two repairs are a great test for any shop. The shop you want will be able to check your noise for no charge, as well as scan your computer system and give you a quote for any repairs needed without any fumbling or drama.
