Electrical problem
2003 Hyundai Sonata Front Wheel Drive Automatic 73000 miles

We are original owners, 4-cylinder 2003 Sonata, automatic, basic model. Accident free.

About 2 weeks ago, when car started, airbag light remained on; continues on everytime we start on
stays on. Again, no accident.

We looked under front seats, DRIVER side has one
wire plugged in a yellow connector, another blag
plug is hanig. We do not see a femaile connect
that it plugs into; perhaps this plug is part of wiring
for 2003 Sonata GLS with automatic seats or maybe normal or maybe we do not see where it should be
plugged into.

What can we do to try to remedy the AIRBAG light
going on an remaining on?

I would really appreciate answers/suggestions.

Again, no accidents, no hits, just one day when
car started, light stayed on.

Hi suenick,

Thank you for the donation.

An error in the system has been detected and the control module has disabled the AirBag system and indicate the fault in the dash.

You would need a scan tool to retrieve the trouble code and proceed with rectification. There is a possibility a wire connector somewhere is contaminated or a sensor is faulty.

This is a sadfety item and requires specialised tools and trained personnel to work on so is best left to the professionals.

Unless you have the appropriate scan tools, if not you would have to send it back to the dealer or those with the tools.
