what would cause the radio to just stop working on this vehicle? I just bought it from someone who said that the radio just up and quit one day about a year ago. Is there anything in particular I need to be checking for?

Absolutely nothing works on it not even the clock? I would check the plug that goes into the back. Check for any signs of burnt plastic, etc. Off the top of my head, I dont believe there is a fuse just for the radio, the fuse that controls it may control something else such as dash lights, or maybe even the cigarette lighter. If all your fuses are good, and your harness isnt burnt up, you may need a new radio. Let us know what you find.

The clock works. And when you turn the radio on, the screen lights up slightly but nothing else happens. All the other fuses are in fine condition.

Plan on a new radio. I dont suggest going OEM, unless you can find a working one for cheap. At this point, you can upgrade to a nicer cd player for about 150$ and a few hrs of time to wire it in.
