1996 Hyundai Sonata Flashing check engine light

Hi my car's check engine light continues to flash whenever I drive the car and will not shut off. I have no idea what is wrong with it everything under the hood looks good, has oil and recent oil change, has all the necessary fluids and such. Would you have any idea of what could be wrong and what I should check so my car does fail one day when i'm driving it

Liz-What you need to do here is have the computer scanned for OBD2 code/s the engine management system has a problem this is your starting point finding out what's causing the CEL to come On.
