my car runs fine untill i try to take it on to the highway. once i get it up to 60 the check engine light comes on and it wont go any faster. i lose power and it goes down to 40 mph. when i turn the car off and wait a few minutes and turn it back on the check engine light it off and it drives like normal. i tired to take it to advanced auto to get a code and nothing came up.

Hi rgeise7502,

sometimes trouble codes are not recorded oin the PCM due to wiring or other errors. The only way to go about is to get the scan done when the CEL is shows and ignition switch is not turned off.

A scsn tool to get the freeze frame data would be the ideal way to understand the various component operations when CEL is turned on.
