Ran out of gas, now car won't start

My girlfriend ran my 2004 hyundai sonata out of gas. I have put 3 gallons in now, and it still will not start. odometer reads 51k. engine is dohc 24v v6. i'm guessing the fuel filter might be clogged (which i can't find) , or the fuel pump burned out (which i don't know how to check). any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

follow the lines from rear gas tank and you will find the filter. usually somewhere under the driverside of the frame. but i belive hte pump is burned out. to test it the easiest way is to find out where hte filter is and disconnect the fuel line there and turn the key if gas poors out then it is not your pump, but if nothing happens then you have a bad pump. or you can go out and buy a fuel pressure tester and hook it up on the fuel pressure rail of the car.
