Evaporator Replacement Questions 2001 Accent

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent, 1.6L, with 65K miles and purchased new. I just paid it off and am trying to get everything done to keep it for a few more years. I just had all the belts, including the timing belt replaced for $429 at the dealer and they now want to replace the boots for $450 and the AC failed as soon as I brought it home from this last service. All of the AC oil ran out of that little U hose on the firewall which I assume means the evaporator is leaking. I filled it with a can of R312 and it was cold all the time I was driving (in town and on the freeway - about 50 miles) but after the car was parked for a few hours, the oil suddenly ran out again. My questions are: Could there be something besides the evaporator needing changing, how much would the dealer charge and would I be better or worse off going to a non-dealer AC shop?

Might just be an o'ring, need tracer dye put in it to see exactly where it is coming from. The dealer will use better parts but cost more per hour than an independant A/C shop would. You could go to ind. Shop and insist on factory parts

Thank you. I actually did put a can in with tracer dye and a UV flashlight in the dark. There is nothing coming from anywhere accept that little U shaped drain on the firewall (I think this is the condensation drain from the evaporator?). All the oil comes out at once after the car has been parked for awhile. Sorry, I should have explained that and that I also put in a 2 ounce shot of oil inbetween. I haven't put in any leak stuff, which I gather is a NO-NO.
