I have the same car and similar miles. I had to replace the alternator last week and it took me about 4 hours to do it by myself. I had no idea how to do it though before I began and I am not the best mechanic. The part costed about $200 from autozone and I had the Hyundai place tell me it would cost about $500 for them to do it total price. I recommend having them do it but if you want to save $300 here we go:

Remove engine cover, timing belt cover, radiator fan, passanger side wheel, ps wheel inner cover (to get tot the timing belt). Loosen timing belt pulley, its hard to get to. Take off all wires and loosen all bolts on alternator. Remove alternator (this is really hard and I had to pray to God the whole time while slightly scuffing the radiator vents. Everything is really hard but its easier to put it back then to take it off.

The way hyundai says to do it is take of the head light, bummer cover, radiator to get to it but I didn't want to do that.
