I bought my '05 Hyundai Elantra new (30 miles), and over the last 50,000 miles, I've been through 3 headlights on each side (6 total). When I pull out the old one, there is a burn mark on on prong of the bulb. Also, the last couple weeks, I have needed to be jumped twice. The car starts up perfectly in the morning and then when I go to leave work, it's dead. I get a jump and it's fine again. Starts up for a week or 2 without any problems, then it's just dead again with no warning. Is there any know electrical problems that could be causing this?

I am not much on hyundai, I looked up and found there are no service bulletins about the problem. being around for a few years what you wrote seems like there is a problem in the altinator. Have the car checked for voltage output . When the lights are on do they seem to be a little too bright? With you changing them 6 times it sounds like they are being burnt out. Have the battery checked. With the battery overcharging it could have made it so it is loosing its holding compacity. As I said I am not too sure its the problem but it is a good place to start looking. Let me know what you find out

I just had it checked out at the dealership I bought it at after burning out my 4th set of bulbs and they won't look into it. They said the alternator is fine but I had a dead cell in my battery. They replaced the battery and put in new headlights. I think I should set up a 6 month appointment to change the bulbs since I know they're going to blow again. Would this be covered under the lemon law since it's a safety issue? Hmmm...
