Hello. I have a broken CV Boot on the passengers side. The auto shop wants to charge me 90 dollars to repair this. First off, how serious of a problem is a broken cv boot and is this something that I might be able to repair by myself? How do you repair a broken cv boot and how complicated of a repair is this? Am I better off just taking it to the shop for the repair? Any insight on this problem would be greatly appericated.

$90$ is no a bad price for a CV boot replacement
and I would not just replace the boot
and I would replace the axle as a unit
ignoring the issue will cause axle to run dry and brake
good luck
