I’m being told I have to replace my clutch (for about $800+). Is it possible that I have abused my clutch so badly in only 32,000 kms that it has to be replaced?Lifespan for a clutch is supposed to be 5-10 yrs, no? They also didn’t mention anything about bleeding it first. I can’t afford this! Thx for any info.

Hi there.

Is the clutch slipping? Is the drive taking up with the pedal well of the floor? If so clutch may well be failing, Check fluid level, and if low, have hydraulic system checked for leaks at the master and slave cylinder, re bleed and test. If the clutch is faulty, insist that they replace the clutch pivot ball, these are very cheap and if the old pivot is worn, the new clutch will not function very well, I got caught out once, but never again.
