I just bought a 2002 Hyundai Elantra. It was running fine for less than 2 weeks. The check engine light came on today. We started checking different things. It was a quart low on transmission fluid. I drove it to Advance Auto and they put the machine on it to see why the check engine light was on and they said it showed a bad converter. I also discovered a small oil leak-maybe a valve cover gasket. I was just wondering if machines at Advance give the correct problem codes? I drove this car for 2 days before I bought it and drove great. Any help would be appreciated.

Bad converter code will not effect the derivability of the car
its an emission issue and codes telling you that the converter isn't doing its job
its not always the converter at fault should check the O2 sensors and if have an exhaust leak between the two sensors
