I have a 2001 hyundai elantra, and about 2 weeks ago, my battery and parking brake light came on. I asked a friend about it and they told me that i needed a new altenator, so he put a brand new altenator in for me. the battery connectors were also changed out cuz there was a lot of corrosion on them. About a week after, i was driving home from works and my radio keep dying and i was loosing lights, i made it home and shut off my car. the battery was dead, so i went out and bought a new battery. and about another week went by and my lights were getting dim on the clock and radio cut in and out. my check engine light came on, and when i got to my destination, i shut my car off and the battery is now dead again. i've had the ground bolt check and made sure it was tightened a few time, but this keeps seeming to happen. is there something we're missing that we should check?

I would first have the new alt rechecked to make sure it is charging. If it is, then there must be a bad fuseable link between the alt and battery or you have a serious electrical draw that is killing the battery.

Let me know what you find.

i have had the altenator tested and we replaced it with another new altenator. still no luck, the battery isen't even being charged. i check to continuity to make sure it was connected and we had continuity, but still the alternator is not charging the battery. the altenator is charging itself. i had a friend mention a voltage regulator? is there one on my 2001 hyundai elantra or not? i'm at the end of what i could think it would be......
