I recently purchased the car and drove it for about a week when the Check Engine Light turned on. I drove to my local Hyundai dealer to have it checked but they were unable to pull a code from the computer due to "no communication" with the cars computer. The car runs fine and very quiet, I do not believe there is an issue with anything.
I would like to know if this is common among Hyundai Elantras? What can I do about this issue? Do I need to purchase a new Communication port, have the car re-wired, or what are my other options? Where would I order something like that if needed? I need to get the car inspected before my birthday which is coming up in October, but don't believe it will pass even if the light is off due to having "no communication" with the vehicle. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!
