Hi,
When I fill my car up with gas, as soon as I hit a red light or stop the car once I drive off, something strange happens.
While in idle, my car will chortle, as if it's going to shut off (but doesn't), and the check engine light flashes for a few seconds.
If it's a particularly long light, it will chortle and then flash the light again. I brought it to my mechanic who changed the spark plugs to try and fix it.
Here's the odd thing: After I drive it for a few minutes, it won't do it again until I fill up the tank next. It only happens when I fill it with gas.
Yesterday he put in new V belts, Timing belt, and basically took my car apart (charcoal canister, valve system, etc.) and could not find the issue.
He did mention that it kept saying 'cylinder 4' but he checked it and it all seems fine. Can you please help? I'm at a loss here (as is my mechanic) and I'd hate this to turn into a major issue down the road (no pun intended).
