2003 Hyundai Accent 65000 miles

Hello. I have a '03 Accent. I just noticed that the trip odometer has been reseting itself everytime I turn on the car. Also, the actual odometer is turning off when I turn the car off, along with the instrument needles (Gas, RPM, Temp) staying in their positions. Usually the odometer stays on when the car is off, and needles goto dead positions.
When I start the car, the needles jump to dead, then to normal positions, odometer comes back with correct mileage, but trip odometer is back to 0.0. After that car runs as it normally does.
Just replaced the battery in Jan 07, but I do have a door sensor that stays on all the time. Time for another battery? Any other ideas?

I would say have the battery and alternator checked- the door sensor has a short to ground and draining the battery. Needles acting up is because the alternator is recharging the battery to get it up before everything will be powered properly-
