My daughter's Accent was recently broken into and the cd player stolen. In removing the cd player, the thieves broke her heater switch. It used to operate fine, but now is stuck in the cooling or ventilation position, I'm not sure. She had a friend from work (when she was employed) move the lever and valve assembly somehow and get it to blowing heat again, but now that it's winter the thing stopped again. If you could walk me through what you recommend, my daughter and granddaughter would appreciate it!

First off what is not working? Is is not blowing air or is the air cold? As for the heater control panel I would recomend calling salvage or wrecking yards and find a replacement so you can permently fix it. Get back to me with what is going one and we will go from there. If it is just not getting heat then you will need to get the blend door locked in the hot possition. Thanks for you support and let me know what more you need.

It is blowing air, just cold air. It sounds like the blend door is failing to go into the hot position.

Yes that is exactly what is happening. See the blend door directs the air through the heater core and when it don't close it just brings in outside air and here that would be very cold right now. It is behind the center of dash on the left end of the HVAC housing. There is a motor on the top of the blend door and this may need to be removed to lock the blend door in place. I hope this helps. Thanks for your support and if there is any other questions feel free to ask.
