Need access to the wire terminals for testing. Found the ECM behind the glove box. Can not see in the small area very well. ECM will wiggle a bit but is held in place by a bracket. Can not see but 1 bolt that is hold it in place. ECM is standing upright, yellow terminal is closest to the radio, with wire terminal's facing down toward the heater air box. The 1 bolt I can see is on the end facing the radio close to the yellow terminal plug-in. What else is holding in in place. I can't get my fingers in the area between the ECM and the upper kick panel area. How much more dis-assembly is this going to take? It's pretty tight on the end nearest the passenger door. Can not see anything up there and I have not felt any other bolts on the ECM box.

Alright.I figured it out. The one "Bolt" was actually a nut on a stud. I removed the nut and could see the stud was in a slotted bracket. I pulled the ECM forward to get the stud to clear the slot and it popped out and the ECM became very loose. I could tell it did not have any more "Bolts or Studs " holding it. It was not dangling from the top of the ECM. I gently pulled down on the ECM and it came loose and fell down. Turns out there were two line-up dowels in the upper bracket that are attached to the ECM. There is only the one stud and nut that secures the ECM in place along with the two line-up dowels. It's a little hard to re-install because you cannot see holes for the line-up dowels which must be in place before the stud can be lined back up with the slotted bracket and the nut tighten back down to secure the ECM.

Hi,

I'm glad you were able to remove it. There isn't a lot of room. LOL

I suspect you also needed the connector pinouts. If you look below, pic 1 shows the three different connectors and identifies the pins. The remaining pictures are what each wire/pin is used for.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
