I know what the problem maybe. I no longer have a 97 honda prelude ecu. My dad got 1 from a salvage yard out of a 98 prelude. I think what the computer is doing is its telling me I don't have a ftp sensor. Now from what I just said here. Would I need to get a 97 prelude ecu or will that ftp sensor thing do something too my car if I don't have the sensor there to begin with. Thanks.

Yep thats probably it, im still wondering if there is one on your car? I bet there is a harness there for one, if there is a connector I would slap one on it if not

beware ! You could fry pcm

locate the terminal on the pcm for th ftp and find the ohm value, then find a resistor or diode with the same vale and place it in the wires for the unit off the pcm, but again ive done this several times on weird engine swaps and have fried ecms and harnesses and sensors trying, I did have more success than failure but it was a long hard road

No theres not a plug in for it near the firewall were it should be if it was california. I guess im going to have to look into getting another ecu. But the fun part is that there around 8 hundred bucks a piece. I was hopeing that it might not cause any problems with my car other then too have the check engine light on all the time. What do you think. Thanks

I really wouldnt think it would cause a drive ability issue, just a light on, but the problem is if there really is something wrong with the car you wont know.
