1999 Honda Prelude egr valve
Computer problem
1999 Honda Prelude 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 223000 miles
replaced egr valve, after 70 miles engine light came on again, i took off line leaving valve and could blow through it, the old valve had lots of buildup

What was the trouble codes retrieved?
Did you clean the passage under the EGR valve?

hi, the code was 401, no i didn't clean passage under egr valve, is it hard? anything else? thanks a lot for the reply

Remove the EGR valve, spray some carb cleaner into the passage under the EGR valve and let it soak for a while. Use a stiff wire or something suitable used to poke the passage to dislodge the carbon and use compressd air to clear them. Repeat a few times if necessary.
Reinstall EGR valve and retest.
