1992 Honda Prelude clutch

When I need to engage the clutch I have to press it down further then befor, I'm sure it's going. What do I need to get changed an average how much will it cost

Hello,

Well the clutch will need to be changed. However, before you do anything have you check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder. It should be located in the same area as the Brake master cylinder but will be under it and smaller.

If you do need the clutch replaced an estimated cost will be about $1,000 or so.

I don't see why it would cost 1,000 dollars to repair a clutch! Thats a crazy price

Hello,

Why is it crazy? By the time you get the parts, pulling the tranny, which includes removing the CV Axles, removing old clutch, having the flywheel resurfaced, replace the pilot bearings, putting new clutch in and then reinstalling everythingelse. I don't see what is so crazy about $1k. Call around to your local shops and get a couple estimates. And be Honest if you post them here.
