1990 Honda Prelude SI (2.0 L). 180,000 miles. I've been dealing with a ton of unfortunate circumstances with this car from the tranny to the exhaust, and the most recent is the clutch. When I put my foot against it, it drops to the floor. I have to lift it with my hand or foot. Most of the time I can build up some pressure by pumping it and continuously topping off brake fluid in one of the cylinders. I've also bled it twice within a two-week span and after both times the clutch was fine for a few days and then started to lose pressure and now I have none unless I really force some fluid into it. My boyfriend thinks it's either the slave or master cylinder. He believes we have a leak somewhere since there's been so much fluid going in and so much pressure going out, so the fluid must be going out as well. What would you suggest? Is it the slave or the master?

Hi helloitsmelindsey,

You definitely have a leak in the clutch hydraulic system.

I would recommend doing both because where hydraulic systems are concerned, if one component failes, the other would not be too far away and getting them both done at the same time would save you the trouble of repairing/repacing the other component that was not replaced.
