Yesterday, when I started my car all it did was click once so I tried again and it did the same thing. The 3rd time it turned over and started. Later the same day nothing happened when I turned the key, tapped the gas pedal and tried again and it started. The battery gauge reads a little past the 12 on the positive side (the 12 being straight up on the gauge)when key is on accessory and the same when car is running. So is this a starter problem, alternator problem or battery problem?
Thank you for your help.

Hi marierussell,

The problem could be starter, ignition switch or wiring. Since Battery voltage is showing over 12, it should be ok.

Does the dash lights all go off when trying to crank the starter?
