I inadvertently put a gallon of diesel fuel into my gas tank. What problems can I expect and what will it take to correct this mistake?

You can have it pumped out, drain it, whatever. But I personally would just keep the tank full. Keep the mix thinned down. It will eventually work its way through the system. You might get a couple of coughs or wheezes from the engine but the car should work it out of the system.
