My minivan - Honda Odyssey 1999 model does not open neither with remote nor with ignition key. I had replaced the battery recently (may be 1 or 2 months back). I am in Kansas and it is very cold here since last 2 or 3 weeks. I had not started my vehicle for last 3 days and when I press the unlock on the minivan's remote, the red light on the remote glows but the doors are not opened. I tried opening using the ignition key that does not work either. I am not sure what is the problem. Can some one please help me diagnose this problem ?

Hi webcrawler,

There is a possibility the door lock actuator is frozen preventing the lock to be unlocked.

Did you try opening the other doors with the key?

Hi KHLow2008,

You are right, the door lock actuator was frozen. I could open the doors now, but engine did not start. After jump start, everything seems to be normal. I observed that one of the lights in the minivan was on, may be that contributed to the discharge of battery.
