Engine Cooling problem
1995 Honda Odyssey Automatic

Just installed a new radiator. Put antifreeze in. And now there is water leaking from down the back of the engine. I can fill the radiator water, but as soon as I turn the car on, it starts leaking water quite fast down the back of the engine, close to the left tyre area, I was told the water hose in the engine might have a hole in it. Not sure?

Hi kahodi,

If the leakage is bad, you should be able to locate the source easily by viaual observations.

Is there a water hose inside the engine? Because I think that is where the leak is coming from. The bottom of the engine is where it leaks. If so would I need to get into the motor to replace the water pump?

Also. My daughter has a mitsubishi and when she turns the airconditioning/heater on it makes a loud screetching noise. What would I need to fix to get rid of that noise?

At rear of engine there is a metal water passage and connected to it is the water pump, heater and bypass hoses. Any of those could be leaking.

As to the AC noise for the Mitsubishi, it could be idler pulley bearing, compressor, beltings or even the cooling fan otors. It is impossible to quote a price without knowing whcih component is at fault.
