My engine stalls after it warms up. Stepping on the gas pedal only kills the engine.

i had driven this car during the hard rain. It was fine until a couple of days later I drove it again and then this started to happened.

i have already replaced the distributor cap, rotor and the spark plugs. The problem is still there.

what can it be? How can I fix this?

What is the trouble code for the CEL?

Look at the ECU under the seat. There is a led display, with ignition turned ON, it should blink if it is a single LED. If it is a 4 LED display, it uses the binary system to count the codes, let me know what it says.

Seems your reply did not get through the first time as can be noted from the above replies.

Sorry I forgot to mention the ECU is under the passenger seat. Did you check there?

Ok, it is a 4 led display. I turned the key al the way right without trying to start it. No lights. Then I started it. While the engine was running before it stalled, still no lights.

It means no trouble codes are present.

Check the igntion sparks, it should be bright blue. If it is dull orange, it could be weak. Check if the sprak plugs are sooty, if yes it would be due to the weak sparks.

Check the ignition and cam timing. Hope the timing belt has not skipped a tooth due to slackness of the tension.

Test the trottle position sensor.
