I bought the car had many problems from the beginning. I replaced cap and rotor, spark plugs, and wires, alternator, alternator belt, radiator cap new coolant! Everytime we drive the car up hill or up too 4000 rpm the car almost dies and it heats up to 3/4 of the way. But it only heats up when the car seems crap out. We can let it idle for a very long time and never heats up. It seems to do it only when it has to adjust the timing and air flow. I was wondering if you think its the vaccume advance or the distributer

Hi jess07b,

Driving uphill or at high rpms causing oveheating indicates inefficient cooling. The most likely cause is a partially clogged radiator or bad thermostat, unless you have insufficient coolant in system.
