Hi, recently i started noticing this prolonged beep for 10-15 seconds after i turn off my car. It kind of sounds like those high pitched sounds you hear from electronics every once in a while, but less intense. The sound is low, so you can only hear if I'm parked in my garage. I'm wondering if there is any problem with my car.

Hi pattas,

If you are not sure and being new car, you should get advice from the dealer as it should be under warranty.

As to the noise, not sure what it is and needs clarification.

Is it like whistling? Could be from the EVAP system

Ticking? intermittent only? If yes, is from exhaust and is ok.

I too have that 15 second high pitch noise once the engine is turned off....a 2009 CRV , 2 months old.
Any feedback on what is could be.
When I pop the hood, I can hear it while idling.

Hi CharlieB,

What you have could be a vacumn leaking and if it lasts for 15 seconds, I would suggest testing the brake master power vacumn.

After turning engine off and when noise is gone, depress the brake pedal, if the first time is soft, the vacumn should be ok. If brake pedal is hard, then there should be a vacumn leakage.

Tried the barke pedal push after the noise stopped...it is soft like you stated.
Still don't know what it is ...will have to take it in.

If it is vacumn laekage causing the hissing noise, the other possibile item to check would be the EVAP canister.

Noise are never easy to diagnose without the physical vehicle so the best option is to get someone to diagnose the source on vehicle.
