How do you check caliper slides to see that they are free? The brake pads rubbing and making noises when the brakes are applied on the 2003 CRV.

Hi bala,

To check if the slider bolts are moving freely, you need to remove the brake pads and reinstall the caliper and check the sliding movement of caliper on the bolts.

When brakes noises are present when applying the brakes, it could either be worn brake pads or the quality of the pads causing the noise. If the rotors are scratched, nooise would also be emitted.
