I towed a 2001 Honda CR-V from Minnesota to Utah on a dolly with the front wheels up, I called a dealer before I towed the car and they said I could tow the car with four heels down, or on a dolly, I am finding out that towing on a dolly can damage the transmission.

The car seeems to be running fine, except there is a small noise coming from the front, but I don't know if it is related to the tow. I don't have a owners manual for the car. To find out witch is the proper way to tow. Could there be a pretty good chance that I ruined the trans?

Hi alexian44,

All-wheel drive auto transmission vehicles cannot be towed with a dolly or all wheel on the ground. If a dolly is used for the front wheels, the rear propeller shaft must be disconnected.

There is a high chance you have damaged the transmission and the extent of the damage would have to be diagnosed by a transmission specialist.
