Engine Performance problem
2000 Honda CRV 4 cyl Manual 200000 miles

So I have a friend I helped out by pulling his cylinder head because of the known fact of the valve seats and valve burning issue due to tight valve lash. So the valve burnt in half which led to no compression in the number 3 cylinder, now before I pulled the head I compression tested all 4 cylinders they were all in the 135-145 range which is decent for the car. So all and all cylinder head was rebuilt but only replaced necessary valves and valve seats, this was done at a machine shop. I had tested the compression when the car was back up and running and it was in the same range 135-145. But recently it has lost power and is only getting 90 psi compression all the way across.

So my question is:
1. Pull head rebuild or get a new remanufactured head?
2. Let it be and run it?
3. Valve springs were installed upside down (someone said it might be a problem)?
4. Bad piston rings?

I dont know. Please help

Hi there,

You can get a leak down test done, this will give you a better idea as to where the comp leak is, how is the comps cold engine compared to hot engine?
