My car has been at the repair shop for a few weeks. I was noticing a shaking only during acceleration. They tried swapping out the axels but that didn't fix the problem. They also said the mounts seem to be ok. They are at a loss for what is causing the shaking.
Thanks

Hi dougddiver,

At what speed does the shaking occurs?

Were the propeller shaft U-joints checked?

The mechanic said he disconnected the rear drive line and replaced the fron drive line, but did not fix the problem. Would replacing the front drive line include the drive shaft?

Thanks
Doug

Replacing the front drive line should mean the driveshafts.

At what speed does the shaking occurs?
Any specific speed range?

From what I can remember, I think it was shaking during accleration from lower speeds, but maybe a little at higher speeds but was not as noticeable as from a stop.

They have had it at the shop for over a month so it I can't remember exactly.

Thanks,
Doug

Symptoms indicates a possible fault with the drive trains, ie drive shafts or the transmission.

Check the driveshaft inner joints for excessive side play. If the joint that goes into the trans has excessive side play, the differential is possibly bad.
