Gas mileage not the same

2001 Civic EX, 92,000 miles, Automatic Trans.
Gas mileage is not the same, engine makes a boooooging noise when cold and has a hesitation after I let off the gas and excelerate again. No CEL.
Also when I stop the rpm's will be at 1000 and a couple seconds later drop to 750 and stay. Can you suggest any fix?

It could be the O2 sensor or just in need of an oil and air filter change.

I would check the spark plug wires. They can cause some of the issues you mention.

New oil & filter, new plugs, new air cleaner, cleaned throttle body, injector cleaner in the gas tank, still
eats gas.
