I have a Honda Civic 2003 with 50k miles on it. I replaced the tires last winter and recently the car has been shaking terribly everytime I speed up. It starts shaking a little bit when my speed is at 70MPH and then it worsens as the speed gets higher... I have checked the tires for balancing and they are okay. I have checked the aligment and that's fine. I have checked the rods to make sure they are ok and that's fine. The ball joints are in good condition...

Litte help please!

With the problem you have mentioned, I can really only point to tires. You may have replaced the tires last winter and that was when you know they were balanced. There are a couple of things I would try or look at. For instance, look at the tires very closely to determine if they are wearing evenly. Look at them as well for any signs of a bad cord. You can look for a bad cord by noting if there is any tread variation. The tread should be consistent in appearance. During routine driving you may have knocked off a wheel balance weight on the tire.

I recomment having the tires rotated to see if there is any change or if the cause of the vibration moves to a different location. This can help to isolate the bad tire. Remember, tires can be defective even when relatively new. I remind you of Firestone.
