1996 Honda Civic Hatchback, 111,000 miles, B1.8C1. Hi, I baught a civic and the engine runs smooth, no shakes no noise no rpms going up and down, but a cloud of smoke comes out when I punch it over 5000rpm, the motor is a Integra GSR B18C1 on a 96 civic, with headers, and stock exhaust muffler, no black smoke comes out when I drive normal but when I wanna go fast, thats when a black cloud comes out, and it stops and does it again when I shift, thanx

I would venture that the car has a lining of black in the tailpipe. I would venture a guess that the gas mileage could be better. I would also venture that the timing might be just a bit off. I would take care to set the plugs to the right gap. Check the air filter and replace as needed. There is carbon build up and you need to get this thing running cleaner. Plugs have carbon on the tips?
