Recently my car has been having alot of problems. It started with the car starting Idol fine for a sec then idol down and die. Plus it won't rev up passed 3,000RPMs. A friend said I could have water in my tank. So I treated it for that. Same problem. I had it checked out and the computer said that it was a map sensor. I had it replaced, and same problem. So I took it back and hooked it up to the computer again and same code, map sensor. Im at a loss. Please help...

Hi curtislee07,

If the Check Engine Light is showing a MAP sensor even after replacement, you would need to perform test to confirm if it is wiring, sensor or a faulty ECM.

Apart from the MAP, any other codes?

Did you check the Throttle position sensor operations? Are they within specs?

How do I check the wiring, and the ECM. No other codes are showing. How do you check the throttle position. Would that make my check engine light come on.

MAP sensor has different faults, what is the error code you are getting? DTC P0107, P0108, P1128 or P1129 all are MAP sensor codes and different code has different testing procedures which requires a scan tool.
