2001 Honda Civic Stumbles and White Smoke out of exhaust pi

It was a raining day when I was driving on the feeter, when all of a sudden my civic began to vibrate. I stopped at a red light for a bit.Then, as I was attempting to accelerate my civic was vibrating some more, like it was going to give out. So, I stopped for awhile and turned off the engine. Then, as I was driving the engine just started vibrating some more and then gave out. Luckily, I got to a gas station to check the oil level and coolant level. Both where fine. I attempted to turn the car on and it came on, but lots of white smoke came out of the exhaust pipe. I have a oil residue around the engine area. It is sometimes really wet after I use to drive my civic. Also, my check engine light has been on for awhile. Now, I have my civic parked in my garage. When I turn on the civic. It runs for like 5mins. then stumbles. It lets out alot of white smoke from the exhaust pipe. What do you think I can do to fix my civic to use again?
