My 2001 Honda Civic with 178k miles ran fine, till recently its just stopped while driving. When I went to start it up it would start and get to about 1k RPMs, unless I reved it up, then it would get about 4k RPMs. I unplugged all the sensors and it did the same thing. I unplugged my CPS (crank position sensor) and it started up and ran. I just replaced the part today and I plugged it up and it did the same. So I unplugged it and went to my local Auto Zone and had a test ran. The MAPS, TPS, and Catalytic Converter codes popped up as bad. Anyway I could get a more definite answer to possibly save some money?

Hi 01HondaCivic,

You pulled and reconnected some of the sensors so some of them might not be real problems. Erase the trouble codes, run the vehicle and recheck the trouble codes. Let me know the exact trouble codes and we shall see what needs to be done.

Had my codes cleared and still the car wont run with the sensor plugged in. The only codes that appear now is the catalytic converter and the cps sensor.

When engine could not be started, you need to verify what is missing.

At bottom of post there is a " First Things To Check " link. It provides the basics things to check for. Go through them and let me know what is missing.
