Hello:

I have a 4-dr, 2001 Honda Civic LX-G with 140000km. The air conditioning no longer works. I had it recharged thinking that it might have been just low on refrigerant but this didn't help. When I press the A/C button the light comes on but the compressor does not. Any suggestions on troubleshooting steps? I'm hoping there are other components before the compressor that might fail stopping it from turning on.

Thanks,
Gavin

the high pressure switch could be bad, or you just may have a leak. some places do a/c performance checks for free, hoping that you will buy whatever it is that they say you need. but all you have to do is tell them you don't have the money for the repairs and that you will come back for them. but tell them not to do anything without your consent
