I was wondering if I should attept to replace my ac compessor myself. I have done alot of repairs on our vehicles. I got it checked out and they said that was the problem. Can I just switch it out and flush it out without any special equipment?

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi patrickufc,

AC freon handling should be done with appropriate tools and equipment. Without any recovery system, it is not possible to recycle the freon. It is an offence to discharge the freon into the atmosphere so I would recommend getting it done by qualified personnels.

Replacement is a straight forward job but you need to vacumn the system prior to refilling so specialised equipments are required.
