Interior problem
2000 Honda Civic 220,000 miles

Hello,

I went to put the window down, the manual crank, and the window "insides" broke from the crank.

Can you tell me how to repair this? I have no idea how to get the interior panels off to get access to the crank and window components.

thanks.

Hi bandit47,

WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY
Removal & Installation (Civic Sedan - Front)

1. Remove door panel. See DOOR PANEL.
Remove plastic cover.
Move glass to access bolts.
Remove bolts, and pull glass out through window slot.
Unbolt and remove regulator through opening in door.

2. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Grease all sliding surfaces of regulator.
Ensure there is no clearance between glass and glass run channel when glass is closed.
Adjust glass as necessary.

DOOR PANEL
Removal & Installation (Civic)

Remove mirror mount cover.
Remove door grip cover and speaker cover.
Remove screws behind door grip cover and speaker cover (front).
Release clips holding door panel in place using a trim pad remover. ( Pulling at the sides with your hands works but do not use excessive force to avoid damages to the panel).
Remove door panel by pulling upward.
Disconnect electrical connectors.
To install, reverse removal procedure.
